Starri 2.0: Our Update Plan

See CEO David’s post about Starri 2.0 on Reddit or Facebook.

15 Day workout customisation

Add a selection screen with all exercises available within NexGym and allow users to exclude for use in the system generated 15 Day workout. Have pre-set exclusions for common situations (e.g., pregnancy, knee injury) that users can further modify, see necessary. These could be grouped by focus area (e.g., upper body, core) or exercise type (e.g., Squats: basic squats, dumbbell squats, iso squats (with a max duration modifier), sumo squats, goblet squats).

Exercise Modifiers

Add a modifier to allow users to make the exercise more or less challenging. (E.g., add weight or resistance bands, shallower / fewer reps).

Progressive 15 Day Workouts

At the end of the 15 days (and maybe at points before, e.g., at 5 and 10 days) ask the user how challenging they found the workout from not challenging, through moderately challenging, to very challenging. If the user scores it as not challenging, increase the difficulty (number of reps, difficulty of exercise, suggest increased weight, etc ). If the user scores are very challenging, do the opposite and make it less challenging. And if the score is moderately, then keep things the same.

Workout description

I would like the daily workouts to have descriptions so I know the upcoming workouts and what fitness equipment will be needed

Walk It Out

There was a great game on the Wii called ‘Walk It Out’. It was a gentle fitness game where you walked around in a virtual environment, keeping time to songs of varying tempo, collecting coins, and using your earnings to expand your virtual worlds. I think the mechanics of the game could be easily implemented on the Nex Playground, and a “Nex version” would be a great “grown-up” game to add to your library. Thanks for your time.

Deaf accessibility

For workout (NexGym, Boxflow and Zumba) It would be awesome if you can add subtitles for the NexGym and Zumba. I don’t have any problems with Boxflow because it has the subtitles at beginning for a short time. As for NexGym, there is a guy on the background who gives an instruction but definitely no subtitles. I have no idea what is he saying but luckily I can understand his body language to understand what’s the movement of fitness. Same thing with Zumba too.

Nex Gym challenge, start in the period and get 30 days to complete

I would like to make a suggestion that you can start the Nex Gym in the given time frame and then you always get like 30 days to complete the challenge. E.g. I started the spring challenge 23/4. Now I couldn't complete the challenge because it ended when I was at day 8. If the change is possible then I would complete the challenge within 30 days.

Personal challenge badge

When I complete a 15-day personal challenge, I would love to get a badge just like I do when I do the seasonal group challenges!

Mute the music?

I scrolled and didn't see a suggestion, but could we get the option to mute the music (but not the trainer or rep count sounds) so I could play my own at home?

NexGym exercise refresher help

I am really enjoying NexGym and I really like the NexGym host, but as an exercise novice, I sometimes need additional reminders about how to do an exercise, such as “bent over row.” It would be nice if the user could pause out of a routine and find a brief refresher demonstration of the current exercise before returning to the routine. If I exit out completely to try to find it in “All Routines,” I lose the progress I have already made.

YOGA or Tai Chi

I would love a yoga or tai chi class to be added. Maybe some upper body weight lifting with dumbells as well.

Workout

I would love to have yoga/pilates with the nex! Also a way to incorporate floor workouts for planks, sit ups, glute bridge, push ups etc.

Exercise of the day

I would like to see this be like an easy to mid range difficulty exercise either picked at random or carefully coordinated schedule (alternating exercises) so that anyone could do an quick exercise of the day without the commit of a 15 day program. This could also be a way to bridge from ending a challenge or 15 day program to either another without losing that momentum. Later on the daily exercise feature could be AI generated based off profile activity so that they are more tailored to each profile to maintain (not challenge) a healthy lifestyle their way that best fits their needs rather than a general one size fits some. Overall, I would want a way to keep the momentum going so that it keeps building that habit to exercise on NEX Gym.

Continuation/Transition from challenge to daily or other exercise program

Many others like myself who started doing the NexGym Challenge may feel unsure where to go or what to do next. I'd like to see maybe like a 30 second skippable video that could play as you close out the completed challenge. This video could explain where we can go from here (pointing to other exercises) and perhaps even a link to access them and get something in line to begin the next day for a seemless transition from challenge to daily exercise.

Demonstrate Exercise

Issue Some exercises introduce new movements but do not allow users to rewatch the demonstration once the workout is in progress. This makes it hard to complete the movement correctly and can prevent the system from registering the motion. Example Lateral lunges in the challenge are new to me. By Day 5, there is no way to replay the instructions or see the demo again. Because of this, I struggle to understand correct form, and the movement often fails to register. Suggested Improvements Add a persistent option to replay exercise instructions and demonstrations during a workout. This could be a button or gesture that pauses the workout and shows the demo again. Include a visual shadow or outline overlay on screen that shows where the body should move or land for proper detection. This would help users understand positioning in real time. Consider a brief auto-replay of the demo when the system detects repeated failed reps. This would help users self-correct without breaking flow. Why This Matters These changes would reduce frustration for beginners, improve motion detection accuracy, and help users feel successful rather than confused when learning new movements.

Make raise hand option more precise

I like the 'raise hand to skip' option, but I have to adjust my glasses after each set and it picks that up as a skip the rest gesture! Can you make it a higher hand raise, or raise both hands? I'm 65. I need those rests between sets!

Equipment List

Would it be possible to have a list of equipment required for the workout (if choosing to use weights?) I do not keep my weights where my Nex is and it would be awesome to be able to get them all set up before beginning!
