Starri 2.0: Our Update Plan
Lightkeeper’s Journey
Just wanted to make a post to say that our family loves the new Lightkeeper’s Journey game! We especially liked: 3 players! Seemed like a nuanced combination of enough depth to engage our older kid (7) while still being relatively accessible enough to hook our younger kid (4) Love the cooperative elements! The ability to revive fallen teammates, shield, etc is clutch We look forward to seeing what the next iteration of this game will bring! They’ve worked hard to clear the first 3 levels and are eager for more ⚔️
Cues
I like this game but the hand controls are very touchy. I really liked the mini golf style of play. I had significant issues getting the ball to charge to the level I wanted it and release when I wanted it to especially after the initial hit. I think this could be improved by having a left hand charge right hand shoot. It could also utilize the controller for charging and then the throwing mechanism for release for people who can only use one hand. I enjoy this format as an incognito billiards and I like the music aspect. As I'm writing this, I think my kids would LOVE a cartoon mini golf game. The cause and effect and trajectory estimation is a great learning while playing activity.
Quiz dashers
We need to bring back quiz Dash, I never like a spacey theme in a quiz, but I like questions about space
Is it Art? switching hands
My 4 year old and I were playing Is it Art (dress up) yesterday and had a great time. She wanted me to take over and I realized I couldn’t control the screen with my right hand (I guess she had used her left hand to start the game) so I could only use my left. Would there be a way to make both hands operatable in that game, no matter what hand was used to start the game? Thanks!
No camera mode
Whenever our dog sees the nex on tv he barks at himself and I’m sure other people have this problem so I’m asking, what if you could have a universal mode for all games that doesn’t show you or any camera feed on the tv, but a stick figure or skeleton to show where you are without showing dogs or just make dog mode where stuff looks all the same color to a dog(dogs are colorblind)
QB Academy: Limit Incorrect Answers
I'd like an option to limit incorrect answers. My 4 y.o. has figured out they can get a lot of points if they throw the ball at each target with each question. While this a great example of statistics in action, they're actually good at basic arithmetic and I'd like to encourage them to practice this aspect of maths!
GeoDarts
Add more area. We are ready to learn geography from the rest of North America, Asia, Australia and South America as well!!
Geo Darts
We have recently found this game and have enjoyed playing it. I think it would be cool if you could have 2 players and do a versus mode with a winner
Geo darts
Love it alot of fun!! But as a Canadian would LOVE for there to be a map option for Canada 🇨🇦 as well!! Over all though it's alot of fun. Been a good challenge for my boyfriend and I on how little we know of the states of America 🇺🇸.
Choose dragon in dragon jumpers
Please help me! My kids play dragon jumpers every day and they have to use the same color dragons every time and be in a certain order. This becomes an even bigger problem when I try to join them and we have to shuffle a million times to get it right. They love this game and I love the exercise. Is there any way you can help us avoid tearing our hair out every morning and starting to argue about switching spots and colors? Thank you so so much!!
Geo Darts Ideas
I am a big fan of Geo Darts and just posted in the Facebook group about how much it has helped my 4th grade daughter learn her US Geography. I've always been horrible with geography and I am now a master of the beginner US level and working on the intermediate and Europe. Looking at the comments, it gave me some ideas for if/when this game is expanded. First, for young learners, in the explore mode, let them practice their aim and actually shoot for the states. My kindergartener likes to play, but gets upset that he doesn't know where the states are yet (though he's starting to catch on from watching us). I also think giving clues would be helpful--maybe in beginner mode, you could get up to 3 clues--when my daughter and I started playing, we'd talk about things we knew about each state that could help us figure out where it would be, like the climate or the region, since she's learning about US regions in school. We also would start with a state she knew and talk about how we'd need to move north, east, south, or west to get there since she is working on cardinal directions. One other idea was to add in state trivia--maybe this could be incorporated into explore mode. I love how this game has made learning fun for my daughter and am offering to have her bring the Nex to school for indoor recess since I think both this game and QB Academy are awesome for 4th graders!!
Add a compass rose to the corner of the maps
I want to help my kids, but I don't want to say "the country to the right", I want to say the country "east of France." Having a compass rose would help them learn and remember the cardinal directions. Doesn't need to be fancy, just in the corner of the game map or something similar!
Geodarts needs many more turns, like a Zen mode
I love Geo Darts but it seems you only get four throws at the US map? I would like to be able to throw as long as I'd like in order to hit all 50 states and learn where all the countries are. The concept of this game has it as one of my favorites but it feels like it's over before it starts. I'd love a Zen mode. I don't care about points or anything so a non-scored mode option that you can just be prompted with a place and throw the darts until you want to end the game would be so good. It's a bit of a struggle with landing the darts. Wherever I put the circle, the dart always falls downward or even outside of it. I do the bent elbow thing but it's very difficult to control. I had some kids here that were really looking forward to it but struggled so much I had to close it because everyone was getting frustrated and losing points when they had the right state pointed at but the dart fell too low and missed it.
Geodarts - more stuff
Can't wait to see Geodarts Asia, Africa, rivers, flags, south America. We love the game and want more, more, more.
QB Academy: no timer option
Timers can be frustrating for learners. I’d love to see something exactly like the game is currently (simple and basic) just with the option to not have the timer. Maybe round end would be when you either miss 3 questions or get so many right?
Geo Darts Learning Map Levels
My 7 year old daughter likes to play solo and a map with the names of states and another map with the capitals etc would be such an enhancement for learning before the beginner level!
Update to Hoops (shooting mechanics)
Is there a way to perhaps include a difficulty level (for us adults lol) and have the camera pick up on hand & wrist movements so the ball only leaves our hand when we actually do a real shooting motion? Right now, all you have to do is lift you arm and it's recognized as a shot, which is not realistic or that much fun.
GeoDarts - explore mode
We would LOVE it if there was a mode in GeoDarts where you could throw the dart and it would tell you where you landed. Kind of a reverse of the current gameplay. It would be extra cool if it could include some photos and interesting information about that place. Like "This is Arizona, the capital is Phoenix. Arizona is known for cacti and the Grand Canyon and beautiful sunsets"
Geo Darts - endless mode
Would love to have an option to keep playing, rather than starting over every five turns. Would also enjoy future maps of Africa, Asia, South America, etc. to be able to learn more about their geography.
