Please improve player detection malfunctions
Jeff
The system is either way too sensitive to wanting to switch players or the opposite..
First main issue) I have many issues with this when the game is switching from player one to player 2. It always focuses on player one and never tries to âlookâ for another player when player 1âs turn is over. The second player has to step in front of player 1 almost every time.
Second) the other issue is if someone is sitting on the couch behind the players playing, it will almost always look at the person sitting on the couch instead of the player standing in front of the TV. Some of the problem is that the player playing might step off screen or spin around which makes it lose its detection. This happens all the time for us though and can be very frustrating.
Hereâs some ideas to help (I hope)âŠ
1) The system needs to reset its detection in between players and not look for either player while the players are switching then when it is the second playersâ turn start the detection and whoever is in front should get priority.
2) The AI detection should not prioritize someone in the background. Maybe the camera can link for the clothing, height, depth/distance, play space, or face of the player playing and try to keep that in mind.
3) Raise the threshold for when it tries to look for a player when it loses detection. Maybe it needs to have a 3 second delay before it looks for someone else.
4) I know this has been said before, but what if the system had a Face ID type detection where someone has an account thatâs linked to their face/body and then the camera wonât look for someone else when that person is playing.
Sorry this is long but I want the best for this system. Sorry for formatting Iâm on mobile.

Just got ours up and running last night. Immediately signed up for a year to try other games and this has been my biggest frustration. Kids love it but the 2 player on bowling was almost unplayable, fortunately they are just happy hitting a pin and canât read scores.
