PE Version play pass
Kailyn Stephenson
Nex Playground is exactly what many homeschool families are looking for in a physical education tool… but there’s one major issue stopping a lot of us from buying it.
Right now, the system itself is often viewed as a movement-based platform (similar to the Nintendo Wii), which can be ESA-approved. But the Play Pass is categorized as a game subscription, which means it’s typically not reimbursable.
The problem is that the Play Pass is essential. Without it, the system has very limited use. So even though families want to purchase Nex Playground, many of us don’t move forward because we can’t get the main functionality covered.
A simple solution that could make a huge difference:
Offer a Physical Education–focused Play Pass using your existing content.
This could be:
• A curated set of movement, sports, and fitness-based games
• Clearly labeled as a physical education or active learning program
• Positioned as instructional rather than recreational
That distinction matters a lot for ESA approval.
There is a huge and growing group of homeschool families with ESA funding specifically for PE, actively looking for engaging options like this. Nex Playground already fits the need—it just needs to be categorized in a way that allows access.
