Games with Nexcessories (real objects that are used during play)

New Games

I think it could be fun to have some games that real objects can be used with. For example, a floor mat with markings that could be interacted with like DDR or Twister (jump on the blue, etc), or balls for working out like a weighted medicine ball, or encouraging mobility with a bar. I realize part of the great benefit of Nex is that it needs literally nothing, but I just wanted to share the idea to see if anyone else would like the idea of using objects with play for some games.

    I like where you are going with this. However, I don't like the idea of official NEX add-ons.

    Remember the Wii having all those unnecessary wiimote addons? Like the tennis racket? It did absolutely nothing as it is just more plastic that you add to the wiimote, which does the actual work regardless of what else is attached to it.

    But you might say that the point of those attachments are to help people use the wiimote as if it were an actual tennis racket. To that, I do see the point in making it more user friendly. Here's where Nex could step in . . . They have the tech to be able to detect things, but is only concerned about your body and its movements. It has been suggested to hold something (anything really) to help the user make the movements for tennis or baseball or swordfighting etc.

    With all that said, I wouldn't be opposed to a floor mat of some kind. I still believe that Nex could create the software to display a virtual twister mat or DDR arrows on the screen, and the user would use their hands and feet accordingly.

    Overall, I'd like to see Nex be able to detect the appropriate useable floorspace and do something with it on screen. It'll be a bit difficult to play Floor is Lava with a single floor mat design.

      Rusnak Creative right, maybe then, it could be possible for people to use what they have and have the floor scanned to show what's floor vs lava. Even cardboard or a shirt laid on the floor could be floor if you get creative. I think this makes it more complicated from a coding perspective, but more widely applicable.
