2 Player game detection

We are having trouble starting a 2 player game on miniacs after the update. The camera will pick up player 1, but the player 2 side keeps saying move to the middle, when they are in the middle. I tried having my kids switch sides, and no luck. We tried restarting the game a few times and ran into the same thing.
